Deep Tissue Massage is a therapeutic massage offering relief from muscle pain and soft tissue injuries. It's a worthwhile physical therapy which relieves tense muscles also offers the perfect way to relieve stress.
If you are suffering from muscular tension or aches and pains, feeling stressed or recovering from a tissue injury, a deep tissue massage is exactly what you need. Using a similar technique to a swedish massage, the main differences are the firmness of the pressure applied and the fact it can be more targeted to specific areas and deeper layers of muscles. I am a qualified and experience massage therapist specialising in deep tissue sports massage in Hastings, St Leonards and the surrounding areas.
During our initial conversation we will discuss the issues you are suffering from to establish which areas of your body require direct attention. By using different pressures to reach all layers of muscle, the massage will help increase blood flow and kick start your body's natural healing process. Using my forearm, elbows, fingertips and knuckles, I use many massage techniques and am able to manipulate deeper muscle layers, connective tissue and also break up adhesions. Pressure can be increased or decreased to suit comfort levels.
Initially you may feel slightly achy but this will pass within a couple of days after the massage. The ultimate result will be significant relief from muscle pain from where I release knots in your muscles to restore elasticity. Not only is a deep tissue massage great for treating muscle pain, it is also a great way to reduce stress and anxiety, break up scar tissue and generally make you feel happier by releasing 'happy hormones' such as serotonin.
